Meyer Parrots
Meyer Parrots (Poicephalus meyeri)
Origin: meyers' parrots come from South and Central Africa
Size: small, somewhat stocky, about 8 inches
Noise level: Moderate voice, consider quiet parrots
Talking ability: can learn to talk afew words
Description: meyers have brown color on its head, back and tails. There are bright yellow markings on its shoulder and forehead. Its belly and undertail are light green to blue. However, color variations depend on a region where a meyer species come from.

Meyer parrots
Meyers' parrots are small birds with huge personality. Well socialized meyers love to interact with all members of a household. They are fearless, outgoing, acrobic, hanging up side down or being held on its back.
Meyer parrots consider quiet parrots. They can learn to mimic afew words. They especially love to make beep sound like sound of a microvave as well as whistles and other noises in their environments. However, meyers occassionally make high pitched ears ring kinds of noise.
Due to their social creatures, it is best to keep two pets meyers. They spend time to preen each other - vocalize that make them happy
They are best in a quiet household
Gentle handlings are a must. Children must be taught how to handle them before owning one. Remember meyers can have a hard bite if feel threaten.
They are very intelligent and learn tricks very quickly. step up and down command, potty training....
They are fast fliers, lots of swooping and diving
Meyers love to chew and can be destructive if not under supervision. They love to chew on or play with papers, keyboards, remote control, picture frames.... make sure you set a rule and give them a playgym to roam.
They can be nippy if not socialized and handle frequenly

cage requirements
As with most parrots horizontal bars for climbing, and a variety of perches to avoid repetitive stress are recommended
